Select the college and get an offer letter

Let me tell you a short story about what happened to me at the beginning. I wanted to come to Cyprus on a student visa, so I went to talk to an agent.

In fact, I would say a lot of many agents. I had a lot of questions on my mind, but none of the agents had a clear answer. So I thought about applying by myself.

  1. I searched on the internet for almost a week.
  2. I asked and consulted with a lot of people.
  3. I read almost every article which is out there regarding Cyprus processing on a student visa from India.
  4. I collected enough information and started applying.

The first thing I did was I looked for a University. While consulting with the University administration, I got to know that the tuition fee is too high. So a friend of mine told me to apply for a college instead of a university.

Colleges usually have less tuition fee, and the process for applying is much easier comparing to Universities. So I went on looking for the best colleges in Cyprus for a Bachelor’s degree.

I selected the college, and I went to their official website. I checked their contact details and messaged them.

Upon asking about the process, they told me to email my academic documents so that they could analyze them and provide me an offer letter.

Following are the documents you have to scan and send:

  • SSC Documents (Secondary School Certificate + Marksheet)
  • HSC Documents (Certificate + Marksheet)
  • SLC (School Leaving Certificate)
  • Citizenship (Both Sides)
  • Passport
  • Passport size photo
  • Any other educational documents like IELTS, TOEFL (not compulsorily required)

The college will check your documents and provide you an offer letter within 15 days.

Medical Certificate

To get a medical certificate, you will have to go to a government hospital.

Why a governmental hospital?
It’s a requirement from the college, and also the certificate from a government hospital possesses more value.

You have to go to the hospital and visit the inquiry desk. You have to tell them you want a medical certificate. They will give you a form to fill up.

To get the medical certificate, you have to check up and get the report of the following three tests.

  • Blood Test
  • X-Ray
  • Urine Test

It will cost around 200 Rs.

You will get your report within 2 or 3 working days. When you get them, you have to take them to the Dean of the hospital or someone who has the highest authority to get them stamped.

You have to bring the following things with you:

  • All your medical reports (Urine Test, X-Ray, and Blood Test reports).
  • Passport + Passport copy
  • Citizenship + Citizenship copy
  • Passport size photos

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

This is a little bit lengthy process. But I will try my best to make it short and understandable.

The first thing you have to do is, you have to visit the website of Passport India.

Passport Seva India

URL: Passport India Official Website

You have to create an account, log in, fill the details, and make the payment.

When you are done with the payment, you will get an appointment date.

You have to go to the passport office on the given date. When you reach there, you will have to show your documents to the receptionist.

Documents to show:

  • Passport
  • Payment Receipt (When you pay online, you will get a receipt on your phone/mail)

After you submit your documents, they will take your Fingerprints and photos.

After that, all your reports will be sent to your local police station. You will get a message on your phone about when to go there.

You will have to bring the following documents while visiting the police station.

  • SSC Documents (Secondary School Certificate + Marksheet)
  • HSC Documents (Certificate + Marksheet)
  • SLC (School Leaving Certificate)
  • Passport
  • Passport size photo
  • 2 witnesses (You have to bring 2 people with you for the witness verification)

When you provide all these documents, your PCC will be ready within 15 days.

Academic Certificates Attestation

You will have to attest all your academic documents.

You have to attest your SSC documents from where they were issued and also the HSC documents from where they were issued too.

  • SSC Documents (Secondary School Certificate + Marksheet)
  • HSC Documents (Certificate + Marksheet)

To attest your SSC documents, you will have to visit the SSC counter, and for HSC documents, you will have to go to the HSC counter.

Note:
SSC and HSC counters are situated at the department of the Board Of Education.

You will have to pay 100 Rs per document.

You have to leave your documents there on the counter. Within 1 or 2 weeks, they will call you and tell you that your documents are ready.

Ministry Of Human Resource Development (HRD)

When your documents are stamped from the SSC and HSC counter, you will have to bring them to the Higher Education Department Board.

Department Of Higher Eduction India

You will find a sanction officer in the Educational Department who will sign and verify your documents.

After that, you will have to go to the protocol department (General Administrative Department) to attest your documents again.

Only then, your academic certificate attestation process will be completed.

Bank Statement

I hope you have an existing bank account in an “A” class bank. If you don’t have one, you have to open one.

If your parents have, it works fine. You don’t have to create a new account.

In fact, getting a bank statement through your parent’s account gives you more benefits than getting it from your own account.

Why so?
If you process the statement through your parent’s account, there will be less inquiry, and fewer questions will be asked.

They won’t ask you many questions. But if the account is in your name, you might need to show your personal income source too.

Here is what you have to do.

You have to go to the bank and deposit the money. If you already have, then no need to put, but if you don’t, deposit at least 7000 Euros.

Now you have to fill in a form and mention in there that you need a bank statement.

When you get the bank statement, you have to get it stamped by the Bank Manager.

Ministry Of External Affairs

Location: Delhi

Ministry Of External Affairs

All the documents you have prepared till now, you would have to get them stamped by MEA.

If you are in Delhi or nearby states, you can go to the Ministry Of External Affairs by yourself and submit the documents.

But, if you aren’t, then you would have to courier the documents.

When your documents are reached in the MEA, they will call you and let you know that the documents have arrived.

It usually takes 1 week for MEA to process your documents.

Sending documents to the college

You have prepared all your documents. Now you have to send them to your college via courier.

When you send the documents, you will have to inform the college administration.

It’s better to give them the tracking ID of your courier so that documents reach directly to the college.

Documents to send:

  • Attested academic certificates (All)
  • Medical report
  • Police report
  • Bank statement

When the college receives your documents, they will mail you or call you to let you know that they have received your documents.

Note:
It usually takes 1 and a half months for your visa issuing process.

When your visa is issued, you will get a call or an email from the college.

Sending money to the college

Your visa has arrived. So the next thing you need to do is, you have to send your college fee.

Go to the bank from where you had made a bank statement.
Tell them you want to send money to your college. They will guide you on how to do that.

When your money is reached, the college will send you a positive confirmation email and a receipt.

Note:
Keep that receipt safe cause you would have to show that at the airport with your other documents.

Plane ticket and arrival

Now, you have to book a plane ticket. Your flight would be from India to Larnaca (Cyprus). You might get transit in Qatar or Dubai.

When you arrive at Larnaca airport, you have to go to the Immigration section. You would have to show all of your documents in there along with 2000 Euro in cash.

After analyzing your documents, they will stamp on your passport. Then you can come out of the airport and meet your friends.
